Our stay at Hills Vista Lodge was perfect! We were looking for somewhere to stay after the evening banquet tour of Hobbiton and this was a standout. Ideally located and at a great price. The place was spotlessly clean and very comfortably accommodated the 4 of us, but would easily do the same for 8. Very friendly hosts (including Ludo!) with a well stocked fridge and cupboards for the morning! Having read other reviews I only wish I'd mentioned 2 of us were vegan as it seems we would have got something special too! The only downside was not meeting Princess Anastasia until right before leaving hahaha!

The house is overall so beautiful and cozy, with views to the mountains, and surrounded by green meadows. The beds very comfortable and overall lots of attention to detail (from lighting to pillows). The hosts are so lovely. We had a great time chatting to them over breakfast and Jen gave us so many tips for activities around the area, overall very helpful. We kept extending our stay. :) Can’t wait to be back.

Second stay here as lovely as the first. Mia and Michael are so welcoming, the studio is beautiful, clean and comfy and the breakfast is spot on. Didn't get to do my archery practice but that was entirely the weather's fault!

The room is very clean, indeed the space is slightly small for 2, but it's still fine and comfortable. We have everything we need, the breakfast also well prepared. Cheri is very nice and friendly owner. Strongly recommended to whoever to wish stay in Matamata area.
