The location is unique in its closeness to nature (the entrance to Sinharaja Rainforest just a 10-min walk by foot) and at the same time being very fresh and modern built, with everything necessary available in the room. Stunning view on the river and the opposite-laying tea hills and jungles directly from the terrace; peacocks walk freely on the property. Location beautiful. Tucked on a hillside overlooking the jungle. Quiet and peaceful. Our host, chanaka, was very helpful and enthusiastic. He was open for any adventure and hung out with us for a night of music, dancing, and laughs.

This place is amazing. So beautifull and peacefull. The cabanas is so nice, the Porch is out of this world with nice view. Big comfortable bed. The food was amazing too. Will come back one day 🙏🏻 had a rainforrest tour arranged by the owners with their neighbour, who is a guide, and was really good as well.

Great location, little bit far from the center, but it's quite and surrounded by nature, great opportunity for walk. Room was big enough, comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious, one day the cook prepared a breakfast package as we went out early for a tour to Sinharaja. Also recommend having a dinner, because they were delicious! If you are interested in Sinharaja Tour, the owner can give you a contact to Danu, who was a great guide, very knowledgeable, great communication with him,highly recommend. The owner is also very nice, we had a really good conversations.

We stayed here for two nights, doing a guided tour in between. It was a super good stay. Usually, the owner himself does the guided tour. In our case, he was already booked, so his father guided us. He was a great guide, with a lot of love for the forest and a lot of knowledge after guiding people around for already over 20 years. After the tour, we had delicious food, served at the new guesthouse of the owners brother (Wildlife Kingdom, we did not sleep there but it looked also very comfortable with a great view). All other meals were also prepared by the owners wife, and after spending two weeks in Sri Lanka we can say that that was the best food we have had so far! We stayed on the top floor, which was very comfortable. Of course, being close to nature means there will be insects, so be prepared for that ;) Thank you for hosting us!

Bandula and his family took fantastic care of us. We were treated to first class home cooked food and very caring care. We would also like to give our warmest recommendations to Bandula who guided us in the rainforest. He arranged everything and we received knowledgeable guidance among plants and animals always conveyed with an infectious laugh and enthusiasm. This should not be missed as it was very affordable.

Sinharaja Forest Edge is situated right on the edge of the UNESCO site Sinharaja Rain Forest. The property offers complimentary transportation to the rain forest from Mederipitiya Village.

The hotel is literally located at the edge of the forest which makes it a bit tricky to reach, but with the free shuttle it’s easy. Moreover the location is perfect to start forest trips directly from there. The room was really clean with a spacious bathroom and the food (especially the breakfast) was good. A special remark is to make about the hosts. They carry a really warm energy and are super kind!
