Guest House Ouka is about 11mins walk from Takayama station, the route was pretty straight forward - just a straight line! The Guest House itself is cosy and well decorated. On 1/F you will find the reception counter and a home-like common area, the kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, cookware and long dining tables, Shower rooms are just next to the kitchen. My single room was on the 2/F which was clean, warm and spacious!! (with comfy bed/ chair/ hair dryer/ mirror/ small laundry rack etc. and a warm welcome note :) Restroom/ washing machine (200yen)/ tumble dryer/ Laundry racks/ washbasins were just few steps away. Staffs were so friendly and helpful, luggage storage was also available before check in and after check out. I had a great time in Ouka and Takayama, will definitely come back next time (and stay for few more days!)

Pictures do not do this house justice, it is unbelievably beautiful home and Satoshi was so welcoming and offered us stunning recommendations on where you could go sit by the river. The food was delicious and served with care. The beds were very comfortable, I can't recommend it enough, we were blown away by the whole experience.

1. It's quite near Takayama Nohi Bus Center - about a 10 minute walk. 2. The property is very new, so everything is clean and in working condition. 3. There's a kitchen with fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle, where you can eat or prepare your food. 4. It's in a nice quiet neighborhood. 5. The owners, Peng and Oscar, went out of their way to make me feel welcome. They were very friendly and genuinely helpful, when I had some special requests. I couldn't have asked for nicer property owners!

I loved every minute of my stay at Cup of Tea. From the moment I arrived I received a very warm welcome, and enjoyed a great conversation with the owners. The bed was comfortable and spacious, and felt very private. The room was warm (which was very welcome in winter) and reasonably quiet. Great location close to the main attractions. Free tea/coffee was provided all day, and there was a well equipped kitchen if you wanted to cook. I would 100% stay here again.
