I highly recommend this place. The owner is so incredibly friendly and helpful and gave me a great immersion into Japanse culture and values, not only by the great conversation we had but also by the way he supported me during my stay and even afterwards. The house breathes Japanese history and has a wonderful spacious feel. I stayed in a beautiful room in Japanese style and there is a great living room to read and relax. I am very grateful for this experience and intend definitely to return.

I really liked the vibe of Guesthouse Yashima. It's a truly authentic Japanese experience, from the bath to the tatami floors to the décor. The hosts are both absolutely wonderful and make you feel at home straight away. It's conveniently located so you can see all the sites in Yashima (I especially like Shikoku Mura) and 10 minutes from Yashima Station,which makes travel to Takamatsu and Tokushima convenient. I also enjoyed the cats. Everything was so real, down-to-earth and genuine. I look forward to coming back next autumn!

Hiro was a wonderful host. He had many recommendations for the area ready, and even recommended stops for our next stretch of travel. Hiro has a passion for interieur design which you can see and feel in his house. It was very nice sitting together for chat and glass of wine in the evening … and to enjoy his breakfast the next morning. We stayed two nights, enjoyed our entire stay and can wholeheartedly reccomend staying with Hiro, specifically if you want to experience a japanese home from the inside. Many thanks to Hiro for his hospitality!

really liked the decor of the hostel, you can tell the owner is a woman as she paid attention to small details. the room was spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and tidy. the location is bit of a walk from the station but right by the shopping arcade.

The owner is so incredibly friendly and helpful and gave me a great immersion into Japanse culture and values, not only by the great conversation we had but also by the way he supported me during my stay and even afterwards. Great location, 4 mins walk distance to 片原町 station. Alex and his wife extremely welcoming and helpful. Though the stairs are steep and narrow, Alex helped with the luggage. The room is bigger and better than the pictures shows, and our room even has a private kitchen. I'll definitely stay here next time I come to Takamatsu.
