The quality of the sympathetic refurb was exception and demonstrated a passion for the building …The terrace overlooking Florence echoes its past as a home for one of the minor Medici family in the hills above the city… We visited the MotoGP at Mugello only 30 mins away … The attention to detail, is astonishing modern and ancient in harmony. There is a family restaurant very close by which is about as authentic Tuscan family as you could want … (biscotti to die for ) …

Host: Stefania the host was exceptional. Friendly, kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Perfect English. When our dog fell ill, she was so kind and gave us information for the vet and did not make us feel bad that our dog had vomited on the tiled floor and arranged to have it mopped. Breakfast: available from 08.30-10:30 which is ideal as we are not early risers on holidays. Breakfast room is very cosy and food displayed along the main counter, yet the atmosphere is not 'pokey' at all, and because Stefania (and Laura) are so kind and friendly nothing seems too much trouble. We had several excellent cups of coffee each morning and service is fast as it is small. Stefania explained the provenance of the jam, honey, cheese, salami etc and there are business cards next to each local item (I think you can also purchase some products there). The Italian homemade cakes always looked the nicest (but since we do not usually have sweets for breakfast, these were wasted on us). An Italian style omelette is also available and was delicious. Room was comfortable and clean and a nice large bottle of water available each day.

Pleasant quiet location. At a good distance from the centre of Florence. Great when travelling by car. Florence is not very driver friendly, so it's great to have parking and then good bus connections. The breakfast served in the room exceeded our expectations.

The bedroom and private bathroom were spacious, comfortable, and clean. We had a lovely view of the hills from the bedroom window. The setting is quiet and outside of the bustle of town. The host drove us to the center of town when we left.
