The room and the dining room was super tidy and neat. Despite our host not speaking other than Italian, we managed to understand each other well. She was very humble and welcoming, we had a very nice stay. Due to its slightly remote location, it is only recommended by car. On the other hand, it is very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was also delicious and nicely served.

The room we got (No 2) is huge, light and airy, being newly renovated with its own independent keycode entry from the side of the building which has a river running parallel to it. The style is a perfect blend of rustic and modern with a beautiful big fireplace. The recessed lighting in it gives the room a really nice atmosphere. The king size bed and walk in shower are both fabulous, and the room is equipped with a mini fridge, kettle, coffee machine, cups and although breakfast is not provided at this B&B, bottled water, tea bags, coffee pods, a lovely individually wrapped cake from the owner's son's bakery, toasts, jams & nuttela are thoughtfully provided for each morning on the eve during Antonietta the cleaner's visit. Whatever has been used is replenished. Communication with Marisa the owner is very effective and easy and we loved chatting with her. She told us the room was previously part of a restaurant and about turning it into an additional room for the B&B. Parking is available both in front of the property and nearby for free. The cute historic town centre is only a couple of minutes walk away. We would happily stay at La Dogana again!

The place is done up with a lot of love and care. It is spacious, comfortable and relaxing. We loved the quietness of it, delicious breakfast and the whole setting. It is conveniently situated: it takes 10min by car to reach a train station from where one can take an hour train straight to Venice St. Lucia station. It also takes about 10-15 min by car to get to the beach. A few beaches nearby.

Mr Matteo. Wonderful, unpretentious, and his bar. Italians like that are a thing of the past... The bathroom tiles are the most beautiful in the world. Delicious coffee, delicious ham. And the town is charming. Close to the sea. I RECOMMEND IT!!! We're going back there for a month :)
