Vanilla County in the Vagamon Hills – what a beautiful place to spend your holidays with your family or friends. It is not only the sheer beauty of this place but especially the friendliness and warmhearted kindness of its owners Silu and Mathew and each and very one of their wonderful team. We felt so very well looked after, whenever we had questions concerning the surroundings and the Vagamon Hills, Silu would be there to give us valuable tips and suggestions for day trips and sightseeing. We loved the Kerala food you get at Vanilla County cooked by Ranju and Jolly which was served by Maju, Anand, George and Anthony - always with a friendly smile. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The house and the garden are very clean and very well looked after by Aniamma and Sheena. Everywhere in and around Vanilla County, you feel that things are done and chosen with a lot of love, taste and care. The wonderful memories of Vanilla County and its people will stay with us for a very long time and will make us smile. We strongly recommend Vanilla County if you want to relax in a beautiful place with very special, warmhearted people.

Beautiful property, with an incredible view and surrounded by there own spice and fruit trees. The owner was lovely, couldn’t have done more for us. She cooked some incredible food both dinner and breakfast, gave us fresh fruit from the trees. Bed was super comfortable, warm shower and all the toiletries you need.

If you come to stay at this home stay you will be treated to the most warm and personal hospitality from the owner Mr Jobby. The views from the rooms are incredible overlooking the family tea plantation. Take some time in the morning to listen the cacophony of bird song from your balcony. The food served here is top notch. One of the many highlights of our stay was meeting Mr Jobby’s friends one who runs a small spice shop (much more authentic than the numerous large spice shop enterprises in the area) and another, a school friend, whose family grow cardamoms and process them for other local growers. I urge you to spend a couple of nights here, you will not be disappointed.

This is my second time at the property. It is at a beautiful location. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Caretaker is very helpful. View from the parking lot is awesome. There is a small stream at a walkable distance where we can have a nice time. Evening and morning the property will be surrounded by mist
