We stayed two nights and enjoyed the hospitality of the host and his wife. A wonderful, charming place to stay! The house is furnished with antiques and collectibles. The room was spacios with a small balcony next to the river. The bed was very comfortable. We felt like vacation at grandma. We can highly recommend Killyon Guest House, if you enjoy retro style!! Breakfast was luxurious and delicious, our host cooked for us in the morning. Additional we got fruits, joghurt, cereal and much more.. Thank you Michael, we loved to stay in your house!!

I had a lovely staff at Butterhouse. What a location - from my room there was a beautiful view of the sunset and sunrise over the frosty fields. The bedroom itself was warm and cosy, the bed had a great big mattress and a warm and soft duvet and pillows - I slept like a baby :) The hosts, Pam & Maurice, were exceptional. They picked me and dropped me off from the nearby town of Trim, and even gave me a lift and back to my appointment. They were welcoming, friendly and great to talk to. Also, the continental breakfast the next morning was delicious and abundant. I highly recommend Butterhouse!

Excellent location at an easily accessible place, with parking available in site. A warm welcome by the proprietors. Spacious room and very comfortable. Nicely decorated and very clean. Breakfast is served in the dining hall and includes a large variety of options. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast along with the complimentary snacks given to us by the owner. The overall atmosphere is excellent with a warm ambience.

Wonderfull place. Lodge are very well equiped. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms perfect to travel with familly. Beds are very confortable. The owner was very nice with us and give us some food for breakafast.

From the moment we drove through the archway entrance we were in awe. We were greeted by Michael who walked us through to the mustard drawing room for plunger coffee and tea cake. Michael was happy to answer all our questions on this simply beautiful 1740s home, exquisitely furnished over many years. We stayed in the large four poster bedroom, the bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was in a closet, so quirky. Breakfast was excellent and served in the beautiful dining room with all the finery you normally see only on display in cabinets. Michael provided us with crockery so that we could sit in the alcove in the beautifully maintained gardens and enjoy a takeaway meal. A midday checkout was very welcome. We enjoyed every moment in this lovely home with charming hosts.
