Lovely house in a super lovely location,about 1km from the centre of Mullingar in a huge, quiet, private garden. Our bedroom was like a comfortable 'time capsule' with plush carpets and furniture from the last century and a bed and radios from the 60s. The bathroom was huge (same size as the bedroom) and had a shower over a bath, a toilet,a bidet and 2 sinks. There were lots of towels and things such as wipes for removing makeup etc. Phyllis, the owner's sister, was a lovely and very attentive host. Breakfast was a selection of cereals with yoghurt, toast and jam with tea and coffee. The house has a lot of character which more than makes up for the somewhat old fashioned bed and bathroom furniture.

Our amiable host Anne went out of her way to make our (too short) stay pleasant. We got a welcoming tea right upon our arrival and found our room to be not only pretty, but with very comfy beds and mattresses, a sparkling clean room and bathroom and lots of nice extras like hand lotion. The Irish breakfast was outstanding, it was our first one in this country and Anne had everything prepared freshly, even the bread was home-baked by her. The rural area makes for a wonderful deep sleep and we will definitely recommend this place and top on our list of places to stay again and for longer then! It is a very warm and welcoming house that displays genuine Irish spirit and a tasteful decoration all over, too!
