The view from the room was very nice, overlooking the sea. The room was big, the bed was very comfortable. We had an electric blanket under the sheets, which made the bed so comfy and warm after a long day of hiking! There is heating in the room and bathroom as well, but the electric blanket provided extra comfort. Too bad it rained most of the time we where there!

Located at the foot of the Cooley Mountains, Riverside Lodge offers free on-site parking and is just 10 minutes’ drive from the medieval town of Carlingford.

Good quiet location, easy parking,very comfortable beds, generous sized room, spotlessly clean. Fabulous garden area with several seating areas to relax (if your lucky with the weather which we were!) Wendy was so charming, nothing was too much trouble for her. Good choice of both cereals and cooked items for breakfast and freshly prepared to order. Just a little tip, if you do require gluten free breakfast options just drop her message in advance, it helps with her planning and prevents food being wasted. Would definitely recommend Grove House and hope to return there. Room 5 has lovely views of the garden and mountains.

Absolutely first class, I took my dog and room was perfect for the dog, was really clean and had everything I needed, microwave fridge etc, couldn't ask for better

Glen Gat House is such a great place that I would strongly recommend it to anyone who plans to come to visit Dundalk. It has not only a great location, but also wonderful services. Guests would easily feel at home at Glen Gat House. Its manager, Helena, is very kind and helpful. She even helped us secure our first lease in Dundalk and make various purchases through her local friends and connections. We couldn’t think of a better way to start our life in Dundalk. We loved the hosts, they were absolutely amazing and so welcoming. They made our trip so special. The property was very well decorated and so comfortable, it felt very luxurious. It was very clean and very well maintained. The breakfast was very good also, very traditional. Highly recommend this place.

from the minute we arrived the hosts created a family friendly atmosphere the house and grounds are absolutely beautiful and the whole place absolutely spotlessly clean throughout. The room had a walk in wardrobe which was luxury and an accessible shower which was much appreciated as I have a back problem. Kevin and Geraldine are the perfect hosts in every way and I'm sure it wont be our last time to stay with them its a beautiful part of the country to explore, thank you both, wishing you and your lovely family a very happy Christmas and a busy and prosperous 2026.
