We arrived on what had been a warm day but much later than we’d planned which was unfortunate as we would have loved to sit in the garden and enjoy the sun. Nevertheless, Cindy was a wonderful hostess and made us feel very welcome. The room was welcoming and absolutely spotless. This particular room doesn’t have a standing shower but does have a lovely bath and shower head, this is clearly advertised and was one of the reasons we chose the room as we’d wanted a relaxing bath, which is exactly what we got in this peaceful setting. We had a little trip into the close by village of Ashwell and had dinner at the three tuns, it had a great beer garden but Cindy informed us of another great pub called the rose and crown which we’ll be sure to get to next time. When it came to breakfast it really couldn’t get any better, there was a great range of options and we decided to go with a cooked breakfast. We were incredibly wowed by it! The sausages and bacon were absolutely delicious (I’m assuming they’re locally sourced because they did seem very high quality and full of flavour), there was a generous accompaniment of hash browns, mushrooms, beans, our choice of egg/s (also very tasty and fresh), and a good selection of different breads and jams. The presentation was perfect and it is honestly the best B&B breakfast I’ve had the pleasure of eating. We would highly recommend this B&B if you’re looking for a peaceful setting with a welcoming atmosphere and a delicious breakfast.

Fantastic stay here. Staff are excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable, well stocked and nice fresh towels and bedding. Shared bathroom was spotlessly clean! Breakfast was beautiful, cooked to perfection and excellent range of choices. I ate everything in sight! Location very good for town centre and train station., 5 minute walk.
