While searching for accommodation in the Macon area with the goal of visiting wineries and tasting wines, we happened to book a stay at Fabrice’s house by pure chance. What we didn’t know was that we had actually chosen the perfect place. A grower, winemaker, and an excellent connoisseur of the natural approach to wine, Fabrice offered us a tasting of his own wines—an experience that turned into a memorable wine journey we’ll remember for a long time. At the same time, the house was spotlessly clean, and Fabrice, apart from being a discreet host, was always ready to help with anything we needed. Thanks for the hospitality!

The chateau is perfect. It is easily accessible only 10 minutes from the motorway - so much nicer than staying in a chain motel. The lovely town of Macon is a few minutes away with a wide choice of restaurants and bars. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. There is a kitchen and dining area where you are invited to prepare your own food if you wish. Cheese, bread and meats are provided in the fridge. Our room was warm and so very comfortable. We stayed in winter but I can imagine it would be beautiful in summer as a base to explore the area.

The location was really convenient for the motorway but felt in the middle of rural quiet, surrounded by vineyards. The guesthouse was perfect & our room spacious & elegant, complete with a kettle & a little fridge. The meat & cheese plates served in the entrance dining area was great & delicious wine. Great stay at Estelles...attention to detail very thoughful...fridge, kettle toiletries etc. A lovely spacious room. We found it a little difficult to locate after a long journey Maybe us?!.. specific directions could be good?-'what 3 things'..but, many thanks Estelle you are a super host!

Our stay at Le Carge d'Arlay was absolutely wonderful! From the warm welcome to the beautifully designed and spotless rooms, everything was perfect. The bed was incredibly cozy, and the peaceful atmosphere made for a truly relaxing stay. Breakfast was a highlight—fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared, with homemade jam and yogurts adding a special touch. Unfortunately, we only stayed for one night. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of southern Burgundy. Thanks for your amazing hospitality!

Magic place, with all is needed for a wonderfull stay. Great garden to play with kids, amazing swimming pool. Christoph is a marvellous host, super kind. Dinner was excellent. We will come back with bikes to enjoy the bike tour passing through Macon.
