It was in a great situation & very easy to find. We could easily park nearby, too. The bedroom was immaculately clean, on the first floor with 2 windows. They let us in earlier than stated and efficiently dealt with the paperwork. Whilst no meal option we could get breakfast at the cafe in the morning. Extremely pleasant, helpful staff.

We really loved the staff. They went out of their way to help us as our Spanish is not great. We ate there two nights and were very happy. There are many interesting places to visit in the surrounding area and we loved the coastal walk.

Surrounded by mountains, Hotel Rural Casa Xusto is located in the small town of La Caridad. This 19th-century house features wooden floors and stone walls, and offers views of the garden.

Friendly helpfull staff in the restaurant downstairs and a stunning view upstairs. It might be a bit of an unusual place at first glancde (because of the seafood restaurant and hotel combo) but it is actually the place where I had the best views and best night sleep during a long roadtrip. The fact that the rooms weren't quiet (as shownieuws in my reciew) is actually not a form of critisism. What makes this place so great is that - once you have a room fading towrds the sea - that you want it to be loud is the sense that you can hear the waves crashing in. The sounds of the waves and the wind, for me, was the most calming aspect of this place. Great for a proper stop during a long trip (and dont forget to take the monkfish-stew, it is good).

The house is situated perfectly in between the beach and the mountain. This gives a variety of walks. We enjoyed the good room and breakfast. All the facilities are in perfect condition and everything is nice and clean. We relaxed in the nice rural garden, and had a chat with the geese, and the hen nextdoor. We visited out of season, still there is a good restaurant nearby. And not far away there is a grocery store, to pick up what is needed for a picnic. We even had the oportunity to cook our own paella in the beautiful kitchen. One old house, is undergoing restauration and will also add to the experience of the rural setting. Perhaps it will be ready next time we come by... With the guidance by the hosts it was easy to find a good trail to the beaches. It is nice to stay for a couple of days, to be able to enjoy the coast both at high and low tide. Finally we had to take a walk up the mountain through the fields and wood. We even discovered a archeological site, a stonehenge! Interesting heritage from bronzeages (but hiddem until the construction of a new highway in 2006!) From the mountain there is an amazing view of the coast all from Foz to Ribadeo.
