What an extraordinary experience! Our stay at Castle Hermannstein in Wetzlar was truly out of this world! If you love medieval history, character, knights, swords, authenticity, castles as they were in early medieval times and a touch of fantasy, this place has it all - a full immersion into the spirit of early castle living. The atmosphere is magical. Every corner tells a story. Climb the spiral stone staircase to the top and imagine the medieval ladies and knights who have walked here before. Lee, the owner, has achieved something remarkable here. We truly admired the love and passion he has invested so far and the life he has breathed back into this most extraordinary historic site. This is a MUST stay for all history lovers and those who crave a stay with a difference. We will never forget it. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome. We will be back!!!!

We stayed mainly as a break on our journey. It was easy access to highway and has a car parking. But additionally we were able to also relax and enjoy this wonderful place. It was sort of a farmhouse with a stable for horses. The surroundings and the views were awesome. It can be a nice place to relax and go around on long walks. The Breakfast was amazing.
