It is a beautiful location and a gorgeous B&B - the room was so comfortable, and a lovely space with room for a sofa and a chair as well as the bed so there was somewhere to sit! Bathroom was also spacious and stocked with everything you could possibly need. Everything was spotless. The owner was very friendly and helpful, explained everything and showed me around including the kitchen, which was also lovely!

What an extraordinary experience! Our stay at Castle Hermannstein in Wetzlar was truly out of this world! If you love medieval history, character, knights, swords, authenticity, castles as they were in early medieval times and a touch of fantasy, this place has it all - a full immersion into the spirit of early castle living. The atmosphere is magical. Every corner tells a story. Climb the spiral stone staircase to the top and imagine the medieval ladies and knights who have walked here before. Lee, the owner, has achieved something remarkable here. We truly admired the love and passion he has invested so far and the life he has breathed back into this most extraordinary historic site. This is a MUST stay for all history lovers and those who crave a stay with a difference. We will never forget it. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome. We will be back!!!!

I had a wonderful stay at Burg Hermannstein during my trip to Wetzlar. The castle itself is absolutely stunning—rich in character, with charming vintage decor that makes you feel like you've stepped into a different time. My host, Lee, was incredible: knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about history and art. He shared great stories and insights that made the experience even more memorable. Lee also prepared a delicious breakfast each morning. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a unique and welcoming place with a truly special atmosphere!

Charming owners Lee and Betty, exceptionally friendly service and incredible location in an actual castle! They showed us around and never got tired of answering all of our many questions. Another feature we loved is that Lee and Betty share Burg Hermannstein with six adorable and very friendly cats! We loved that one of them slept in our room and came in the bed for a cuddle, but they also accept a closed door if you don't want feline company. We booked this stay as a birthday surprise for my sister and her American partner who stayed in the "Rittersaal". Everything exceeded our expectations. We absolutely loved Burg Hermannstein and the King's room! The owners did an amazing job turning it into a cozy and unique room while preserving the original castle features like the walls and ceilings. Also, we were delighted it comes with a very modern bathroom, even if is not en suite. Please note that this is a private home and not a hotel. So if you're not for climbing stairs or walking through two rooms to get to the bathroom, this location might not be the one for you. However, if you love unique and special places full of history, then you will definitely love this one and appreciate how Lee and Betty are going out of their way to make guests feel welcome.

This guest house is located in a traffic reduced area of the Goethe Town of Wetzlar, with a wonderful view of the cathedral. There is free WiFi in public areas.
