A small comfortable house in nature but close to La Fortuna. By the small river, where monkeys shout, toucans and macaws are perched in the trees, turkeys are having breakfast, hummingbirds are making their nests in the garden. While sitting and drinking coffee in the terrace of the house, hummingbirds and various birds are constantly fly and chirp among the trees and flowers. Friendly and kind hosts, great breakfast. Wonderful time spent.

The hotel and staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel is in a super central location so you can easily walk anywhere, but it’s set back 2 streets from the Main Street meaning you have peace and quiet at night. Room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast we were served every morning was delicious - my favourite out of all our stays in Costa Rica!

Such a beautiful place! Unfortunately it was raining when I was there so the volcano was covered in clouds. Peaceful, calm environment, a comfy bed and the most adorable cats and dogs. Isaias was super friendly and prepared delicious breakfast in the morning.

It’s really beautiful and budget friendly place to stay in La Fortuna. The room was clean and equipped with the AC and TV. What we like the most was the pool with outdoor kitchen. 10 minutes of walking distance to the city center.

Birds and breakfast has everything a naturalist can dream of: a beautiful and active garden with lots and lots of bird species visits; many reference wildlife books from birds, mammals, reptiles…; great location not only for the stunning view but also for being next to the quiet area of Children's Eternal Forest; spotting scopes and binoculars available for birdwatching and very cozy elegant rooms and 24/7 coffee/tea bar.
