We were upgraded right upon arrival, and had ample space in a large appartement for the full family. The appartement was very clean, two bathrooms and a lovely view. The breakfast gave all we needed: great bread, cheese and nicely served coffee and juice! The location right next to Riederalp Mirte is very central!

This traditional 3-star hotel in the car-free village of Bettmeralp offers panoramic views of the Valais Alps and the Matterhorn. The Bettmeralp cable car is only 400 metres away.

A small rural town well connected by train. Ideal for day trips (by train) to better-known places in the surroundings for visits to mountain tops by cable car, especially if you have some kind of train pass or a reduction ticket. This hotel is fairly old with quaint decor. I picked it mainly because of the value for money. As I was traveling on Interrail, I could use this town as a base for day trips by train to more interesting (sorry) places. I especially liked walking the Schöllenen Gorge (from Andermatt) and going by cable car up to the Eggishorn (from Fiesch), both a short train ride away.
