Firstly, Matemwe is a relatively quiet spot and the lodge opens up to the beach. You can spend all day just watching life happen or go for a swim/snorkel at high tide or get on a boat to snorkel further out beyond the reef. Secondly the space is comfortable and clean. The staff and the owner are also fantastic…friendly and attentive. The buffet breakfast is great too.

Zanzibella was a fantastic hotel. When you entered the gate you were greeted by a garden that was well-kept and with a fantastic flower display. The breakfast was incredibly good and after that breakfast you could get through the day with ease. The room was large and spacious and you had the toilet separate from the shower and washbasin. What a nice staff, always helpful and responsive, with such staff you make your guests feel comfortable. The room was always well-cleaned and the cleaning lady got to show her artistic ability every day when she made the bed. We really enjoyed our stay at Zanzibella!

It is tranquil and I felt safe as a solo traveler. The room was comfortable and clean in the middle of lush gardens. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. The lounge chairs and bar near the pool were nice. Upon arrival , the owners gave me a short private tour of the area and recommendations for activities and restaurants. They were attentive daily. I also got a very good massage at the Cucumber studio on the premises.

The hotel is super cozy and clean , the staff are super friendly and super helpful starting from Mr T who was welcoming us to Thomas and Shedy as well .. breakfast was nice and don’t forget to have your snacks, lunch and dinner at hello capitano restaurant.. highly recommended and definitely I will be back once I am in Zanzibar
