Located on the largest island in Dhaalu Atoll, Kandima Maldives offers an abundance of water-sports, the largest beach club and tennis and Volleyball courts. It offers a marine biology centre, an art studio and cooking classes. The Island was beautiful, we loved all the green areas. The villa was specious, very modern. Food, both at bufet and al carte restaurants, was very good. Many activities for adults and kids.

Charith @ the bar made our stay personal and unforgettable. His Baby Lady Killer was fabulous and he kept the Beer and drinks flowing with a smile! Fayaz and Ajija were great support!

A beachfront property, Angsana Velavaru offers 3 restaurants with water villas and private pools on Velavaru Island (Turtle Island). It is a 45-minute Seaplane ride from Malé International Airport. Angsana Velavaru is a family friendly resort, and has an indoor and outdoor kids’ club, which offers a wide variety of activities including babysitting services. It was our first time traveling to Maldives, so cannot compare this hotel to others, but the whole experience was terrific! If you stay in one of the In-Ocean rooms, you are basically staying in the middle of an enormous exotic aquarium. Any time you desire, you just jump into the water and see all kinds of marine life, including turtles, stingrays, baby sharks, octopuses, and all kinds of fish! We even watched a group of dolphins swim around the reef. The room we stayed in was huge, which made us feel like we could stay in the room our entire trip without feeling the need to go out. The staff was great, but we stayed here during Ramadan, which was extra tough on them, having to fast. Also, there is a baseline difference between hospitality in the US and Maldives; having said that I think they did a decent job. The food options were good, but not particularly memorable.
