Perfect location for a safari. Staff were helpful & friendly. The room was perfect, excellent value for money! We arranged a safari through the accommodation which was excellent. They provided our breakfast while on safari. It was delicious!

The owners are very kind, it's a lovely family. They help you with everything you need and they also have the option to go to the safari with them. The accommodation it's very confortable. You can have food and it's very good and tasty. Perfect location close to the Udawalawe National Park.

We stayed here to go to Udawalawe national park. It was a perfect location for it, situated about a ten minute drive away. The hotel can assist with organising the safari for you. We had the buffet dinner which was tasty and reasonably priced in comparison to some other hotels we stayed in. The staff were incredibly friendly and the hotel had very chilled vibes. We thought the noise from the jungle would keep us up at night but the room was silent. The bed was very comfy and we slept very well here.

The camp was very luxurious with its own bathroom and river view. The staff were awesome they really look after you. I am a female solo traveller and felt completely safe with them. The camp included a sunset river cruise in a canoe and night walk. A trip to the elephant transit place was organised for me and for additional charge dinner was provided with fire torches and Bon fire. Five star experience and hospitality.

We had an excellent time staying at Silent River Cottage. Amila was incredibly helpful with organising a safari and providing advice on sites to visit in Udawalawe. Furthermore, make sure you have breakfast and dinner here. Nadeeka made the best food we had in Sri Lanka and did not skimp out on the portions! The immediate area surrounding River Cottage is exceptional, we viewed a peaceful Buddhist temple, saw over 300 Indian Flying Foxes fleeing the nest at sunset and enjoyed a refreshing swim in Amila’s river.

Location is perfect to get early in the morning to the national park. Only 2 km away from main entrance. Just a 5 min work to the lake of the national park, where you can see at the sunset the elephants coming. The pool is also perfect after an early morning safari to relax in the afternoon. All together perfect location!
