If you never been to Kalpitiya, it has a sense of being on the outskirts of civilization. Here you stay nestled among the houses of the locals and share the beach with its fishermen. Beside great kite- and windsurfing (and endless beaches of course), there is not a ton of things to do in Kalpitiya. Scuba diving is good, when there is visibility. Dolphin watching is also a possible activity, but quite an expensive one that last a couple of hours. You won’t find any city center with shops, bars and restaurants near, but you can of course visit other resorts and use their facilities. However you should know that you have a very good restaurant on site if you stay at the Sea Sand Resort! This establishment is made up of about 10 small bungalows with a restaurant. The bungalows are quite basic, but very clean and comfortable and represents good value for money. Within about 10 minutes or more on foot, you can reach surf schools and beaches. From my own experience I can promise that you will be very well taken care off if you chose to stay at Sea Sand Resort.

Beautiful oasis by the river. Bungalows are comfortable, cool, and tastefully decorated. Be sure to wander on the path at dusk and at dawn to see all the birds. I would give 11/10 if I could! Thank you for the wonderful stay.

We had a great time…. The place is just amazing.. We wanted to spend a few days to have a rest before another exploring of Sri Lanka… You have to take a boat (5 min) to get to the beach - very good spot for kiting…. We travel with our 8 years old son, so spent couple nice days at the beach. Room was spacious and clean… our special thanks is to Ansalis and Madushan who took an extraordinary care of us and made our stay unforgettable. Simply Paradise. I stayed 5 nights and had a wonderful experience. The resort is beautifully located at the sea, so relaxing and swimming all day at a place where there are not many tourists makes it a special place. The accomodation and the food is really great but what makes it even more special is the kindness of the people. Extraordinary! It was a perfect start in Sri Lanka. This was our first stay in Sri Lanka, and it was absolutely amazing! The location is stunning and incredibly peaceful, offering plenty of privacy, various cozy spots to relax, and beautifully designed rooms with an outdoor bathroom. The food was simply outstanding. The chef prepares a delicious and varied three-course meal daily, probably the best we had during our entire trip. You can even watch him cook and get an insight into his culinary skills. The rest of the staff is incredibly friendly too and always there to assist with a smile. And to top it all off, there were three adorable puppies. In short, this place is a must-visit for anyone looking for a breathtaking setting, warm hospitality, and incredible food. Many thanks and we'll definitely be back!

The place was fantastic, and we had an amazing time as a group. The swimming pool was a lot of fun, and everything was very clean. The two caretakers were extremely helpful, and the owner was kind and always available to assist. Overall, it was an amazing experience. The only minor issue was the low water pressure in the upper bathroom.
