Perfect location, hosted by a warm and kind family

The family that owns the property are incredibly friendly and thoughtful people and they really went out of their way to make us feel at home. The father offered to take us wherever we wanted to go in his tuktuk and his daughter brought us to see a huge lake near the hotel at sunset. The breakfast is very tasty and the location is beautiful. We spent a considerable amount of time just sitting by the lily pond and observing the hundreds of birds species that come to feed and bathe there every day.

We were warmly met by our hostess after she had organised complimentary pick up from the train station. Our room was comfortable, roomy and cool on a hot day. Tuk tuk driver was organised for us to tour the city and take us for the sunset. Again the next day touring was organised. The afternoon was spent participating in a cooking class where 8 meals were prepared over 3 hours - this made a delicious dinner. Hospitality cannot be faulted - a wonderful home stay.

Different way to imagine the paradise on the beach, in the mountains and here you have it in the heart of the nature. Staff is amazing, breakfast or dinner are absolutely excellent. Room are natural but also modern ! Really love my stay here. Of course you can meet some bugs, ants, or others but this is part of the charm of the place and the room is super clean.

The proximity to nature and lakeside setting was a real highlight - we enjoyed watching land monitors, monkeys, birds, and flying foxes during the day and evening. The lake view superior room was lovely (if a little far from the lake.. you can see it but only slightly through the trees) and very comfortable. Nice terrace and chairs out the front. Pool area was outstanding as was the dinner and breakfast buffets. Location good as close to top cultural triangle sights. Go to Lake View Kitchen nearby for sunset drinks and dinner for a change.

Perfect location for the Wilpattu National park. They offer Safaris through the guest house which was amazing.

Very nice and helpful hosts providing delicous food and good Tipps. They arranged a Safari for us and a tuk tuk ride to Sigiriya. Very beautiful location directly at the lake. From treehouse you have great views to observe birds especially nice for sunset. Very recommended!

Astoundingly beautiful property on the lake. So much more wonderful than the photos. The owner and his staff are very kind and helpful, the views from the rooftop breathtaking at dawn and sunset and the pool excellently maintained and a fabulous place to relax in after a morning’s sightseeing around historic Anuradhapura.
