Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.

For this price in Sumba, it’s hard to find anything better. There were a few more insects in the room compared to places like Bali, but it wasn’t a big issue thanks to the mosquito net, which was in perfect condition despite what some other reviews mentioned. We stayed in two different rooms and had no problems.
