We managed to see lots of amazing animals right from the bungalow terrace. Monkey, monitor lizards, birds, butterflies. Our bungalow was sea front, thanks to Robi who moved us after the first night. Very close to the bungalows is Olala restaurant, an amazing one, with a great terrace and view. It s like 50m away. We had hot water as well which I honestly didn't expect. Robi will help you with anything, motorbike rental at great prices, snorkeling equipment, snorkeling trips etc. I strongly recommend this place!

At the hotel, every room is fitted with a balcony. At Sahnan Guest House the rooms come with a private bathroom. There was nothing not to love here. The property was clean and well-located, the staff went above and beyond for us by helping us organize rides and activities, the bed was quite comfortable, and the food at the restaurant was tasty and cheap. With the river running by so close, it felt like we were staying at an alpine lodge! The family running the guest house is extremely kind. We couldn’t recommend this place enough. Make sure to bring cash with you, though. As of writing this it’s a cash-only town with the nearest ATM about 7km away.

The lodge offers an Asian or halal breakfast. Beautifully maintained gardens and incredibly friendly staff at the Travelodge. We opted for a 2 day, 1 night jungle trek to go for orangutan spotting. Our guide Selemat was very supportive and an expert on everything in the jungle. His knowledge and experience meant that we saw 9 orangutan in 2 days when some trekkers didn’t see any! Special shout out to our cook Padly, who treated us to a sensational Indonesian dinner in the middle of the jungle! Terima kasih!
