He made our arrival from Belize really smooth. The place is great. Not only a lost hotel but also a lost paradise. The room was really spacious and comfortable. The common shower has hot water. The food at the restaurant is DELICIOUS (bread is amazing, the sandwiches are gigantic 🤤)! Dinner time was the occasion to share with the nice people staying there. Thank you to all the ladies who were cooking with love! The receptionist never failed to answer our questions, help us and give suggestions about our stay. There are a lot of activities you can do (tours and getting a kayak in order to visit hot springs, natural sauna, waterfall). Also, my girlfriend loved the 1-hour massage. Staying at least three full days would allow you to see and do much.

We spent almost a month in Guatemala and this was by far the MOST amazing stay and like a mini slice of heaven! The owners are extremely friendly. My husband and I enjoyed the food, amazing lake views, fishing, kayaking, wildlife, and the fun boat ride with their dog. The Villa exceeded our expectations and I wish we stayed more time.

All of their workers there are super nice, have a nice smile and they make everything happen that you feel super nice there. The standard of everything there is just higher than in any other hotel we have been so far in Guatemala. If it comes to the shower, bathroom, bed or any other facilities, it’s just great! Also the small details! And the best thing is really as already mentioned the staff there. This is one of the hotels where you will say in a few years, remember the „El Viajero“ in rio dulce, and you‘ll immediately remember which one it was.

The building is very nice and well maintained. The staff is very helpful. Enrique is the best. The menu is simple but suitable for a few days. Rio Dulce is a 5-minute boat ride away. The sunset is amazing.

Great location at the lake with nice views from the rooms and balconies. Great breakfast and dinner, with large choice of both local dishes and popular dishes such as their pizzas. Staff was super friendly and helped us a lot when we forgot a phone on the boat. Unfortunately we only stayed one night, we regret as there are enough activities to do and the hotel is a great place to hangout!

The staff are friendly and helpful, and even got my laundry done for me which was much needed. Drinks are reasonably priced and they have a happy hour. I tried some veggie curry which was beautiful, and the dorm bed I slept in was very comfy. Overall the place is really beautifully designed and maintained, and they offer a boat ride to Rio Dulce right of their dock, which is super convenient. There are small lockers in the dorm.

Offering an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant, Amatique Bay Hotel is located in Izabal, 30 minutes' boat ride from Punta de Palma. WiFi access is available in this resort for free. Excellent location of beach front, nice pools and restaurants. Courteous staff. We enjoyed very much at this hotel. Thank you.
