Our stay was wonderful. Our host, Anne, was kind and always willing to help, even when we asked her to raise the heating one evening! The place is in a great location, near a bus stop, a supermarket, and the sea, which was our main highlight. We loved staying close (a short bus ride) to the city centre but away from it; we visited during the holiday season, and everywhere in the city centre was crowded. The apartment is beautifully decorated and well-equipped. Anne thought of everything: besides the essentials, there were games, maps, some welcome chocolates, and a lovely small Christmas tree to cheer us up during our visit. We will certainly stay in Anne's place again on our next trip to Edinburgh.

Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the holiday home free of charge. Royal Yacht Britannia is 31 km away and National Museum of Scotland is 32 km from the holiday home. Loved the unit. Nice and clean and quiet. It had everything you needed including a few coffees, snack and cleaning supplies. Loved the fireplace. So sweet and nice touch. Convenient to the train too. Just a stones throw away. Great resources for surrounding area too. Owners were top notch!

The property features quiet street views and is 90 metres from Portobello Beach and 4.5 km from Arthurs Seat. Royal Yacht Britannia is 6.5 km from the guest house and Royal Mile is 6.6 km away. Sinead and Chris are probably the best hosts in the world. I slept across the hall from the kitchen / breakfast area and they were able to be very quiet! It's 1min walking to the beach and 3min to the bus stop. The bed was so comfy. The shower nice and hot. For breakfast you can have the usual plus some scottish options, all delicious. Felt safe the whole time as a solo traveller (including bus trip at night). 10/10.

The nearest airport is Edinburgh Airport, 14 km from the property. My son and husband stayed here a few weeks ago and my son wanted me to pass on this review on his behalf. Staying at Another Room was the best welcome to Scotland that I could’ve asked for. As most other reviews will mention, the room was very clean, well-furnished and -equipped, and comfortable to stay in, and the location is very convenient too; just a short bus ride gets you straight to the centre, and you’re within easy walking distance of the beautiful Portobello Beach – but what’s truly special about Another Room is the level of truly personal hospitality. Lynne and Rob are incredibly friendly and sociable people who are so incredibly welcoming from the moment you meet them. They offer such interesting anecdotes and stories, and, being Edinburgh locals, are really very helpful sources of advice and knowledge on what to do in the city, and, in my case, getting settled in Edinburgh. Lynne’s tip about IKEA alone saved me a huge amount of hassle moving in! They don’t stop there, though – after all, these are two hosts who make above and beyond seem like the bare minimum! Not only do they personally make a wonderful full breakfast for every guest every morning – as well as home-baking plenty of delicious scones and pancakes with homemade jam! – but they went out of their way to make us a special breakfast, a Lorne sausage and egg roll and blueberry porridge, as an example of a breakfast that I could easily make – and have made! – living alone. These specific choices of breakfasts were also very individual; I had mentioned the previous day when we were chatting about how I’d really enjoyed blueberry porridge my first time in Edinburgh, and I had asked Lynne on our first day what the Lorne sausage was, as it’s quite a specific Scottish food that I hadn’t come across before – and just from that Lynne and Rob very kindly decided to personalise my breakfast!
