We got fresh coconuts whenever we asked and could go snorkeling whenever we wanted to. We also had the Lovo Night, which we helped prepare, and Cookie went all the way creating a romantic setup with lights and a huge buffet for us. The rooms were super huge and had multiple fans and even an (AC which we didn’t need), clean bathroom and big shower, so quiet the luxury for a Homestay. This is the perfect place to come to and completely unwind, we spent a lot of time lounging in the hammocks at the beach.

From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff made us feel like family. The resort is a true paradise, nestled on a pristine beach with swaying palms and crystal-clear waters that seem to glow at sunset—hence the name, and it absolutely lives up to it! Our bure was a perfect blend of traditional Fijian charm and modern comfort, with a cozy bed, stunning ocean views, and an outdoor shower that felt like a little slice of luxury under the stars. The food was a highlight—fresh, local ingredients crafted into delicious meals, with the coconut ice cream being an unforgettable treat. The compulsory meal plan was worth every penny, offering a variety of dishes that showcased Fijian flavors. The activities were endless and so much fun—snorkeling over vibrant reefs, kayaking along the shore, trips to the local village or just lazy stroll along the beach. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every experience was seamless, always with a smile(thank you Male, Nivi, Ave, Vinie, Rauga). What truly sets Mai Sunset apart is its serene, intimate vibe. It’s not overcrowded, so you feel like you’re in your own private oasis. The connection to Fijian culture was also special—learning about local traditions and seeing the care put into every detail made the stay meaningful. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and create memories that last a lifetime, Mai Sunset Island Resort is pure perfection. I’m already dreaming of my next visit!

We loved the whole experience, from a setting of pure paradise to staff that made our stay very personal and so welcoming. The Bures overlooking the sea with an outside shower were lovely.

Nestled on a stunning white sandy beach in the heart of the Yaskawa Islands, Blue Lagoon Beach Resort offers the perfect island escape with beachfront dining, a vibrant bar, and a unique Japanese... Really friendly staff, plenty of activities. There could be a half board option, as three big meals per day is way too much. The food was really good though, better than Octopus resort, but the beach on Octopus is nicer. The small hike up the hill is very nice and the cave trip is a definite must!!

The quiet at this hotel is amazing. There are only a few bures, it's very private and peaceful, and we loved the calm atmosphere. At the same time, the staff is super warm and friendly, and they really make you feel at home. The hotel offers activities every morning and afternoon—like snorkeling and a village tour—and we enjoyed all of them. The food and the facilities were great, and our bure right on the beach was everything we hoped for. Our only regret is that we didn’t book more nights!
