The decor is eclectic and wonderful, our suite (room 12) was spacious and had an extremely comfortable king bed. Breakfast was on the terrace and included fresh orange juice, scrambled eggs, and pesto tomatoes along with the usual breads, cheese and meat. Delicious.

The flat had everything needed to cook and live there, though I didn’t take advantage of that bit. It had wonderful views, comfortable beds and furniture and a bathroom for each room. The staff were great and it felt very safe. The rooftop pool was also excellent, though not heated, it felt amazing on a hot day!

A recently renovated property, Casa Esmeralda is set in Valparaíso near Caleta Portales Beach, Casona Mirador de Lukas and Turri Clock. It is situated 10 km from Viña del Mar Bus Terminal and features private check-in and check-out. The accommodation offers a lift, a shared kitchen and organising tours for guests. I loved everything about Casa Esmeralda! The hotel is modern and new, the room is comfortable, clean and has everything I needed (including a fridge and kitchenware). The shower is perfect too (hot water, great water pressure). The location is great, a short walking distance to all the main sites of Valparaiso, and the staff are super helpful and friendly. There is even a laundry room for the use of the hotel’s guests. Warmly recommended!

Some units have a balcony and/or a patio with sea views and outdoor furniture. At the holiday home, each unit has bed linen and towels. We stayed 7 days at Cabana Kitai and loved every minute. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated and spotless clean. The location is absolutely perfect - it is right in the center still is is peaceful and quiet. There are restaurants around the corner and a little coffee shop where you can buy breakfast. The natural swimming pool in the sea is just across the street. Kevin and Lynn are excellent hosts, they are very friendly, helpful, speak good english and Kevin is probably the best guide you can get on Rapa Nui.
