The hostel is really great. Well equipped big kitchen, lots of communal areas where you can hang out and socialize, but also enough more cosy private spaces with hammocks. Dorm was spacious, clean, comfy bed and had curtains on the beds. Only 1 minute away from the ocean and one of the best hostels I have stayed in so far in Peru!!

Olga our host was amazing, kind, helpful The apartment had every thing you needed , fantastic views of the sea and sunsets We found getting to Chan chan on the local bus and Uber to temple of the sun and the moon easy . Olga found me a drop in yoga class which was great

Montemar is a familyfriendly, safe, quiet and clean apart hotel. The place is a beautiful, green and colorful oasis close to the beach and next to the overlooking mountain. The owners, Edwin, his wife Gabriela, his brother George and their cute little dog Jagger, are very friendly and will make you feel welcome. The place has an interesting story dating back to the time of the Incas, and maybe even futher back. There are two swimmingpools, lots of sun-chairs and different outdoor spots to relax in and out of the sun. There is one big family room with a kitchen and the other rooms in different sizes all have fridges and comfortable beds. There is also a shared kitchen. Edwin or George often make a fire in the outdoor fireplace in the evenings, creating a cozy outdoor atmosphere under the moon and stars. They will happily show you their «one-match» fire-technique and share interesting stories.

Olga and her husband (apologies we missed his name!) were fantastic hosts. Friendly and considerate, English speaking, and had lots of local knowledge. The studio is very modern, super clean, and well equipped with pretty much anything you could need. The absolute best part though was the views, loved sitting on the patio watching the sunset and the surfers. The town of Huanchaco is charming and the place was quiet particularly at night - with only the calming sounds of the waves. Great to have the convenience of the laundry facilities, our own kitchenette, and we liked that there were many shelves and storage for our things. We had such a relaxing stay and would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay and loved the view – watching the surfers and the setting sun! The staff is really lovely and accommodating, they welcomed us in the early hours after a long bus ride and allowed for a late checkout.
