Halcyon is a new hotel with a great pool and an incredible location right at the beach. The beach invites for walks and also swimming as the waves are not too big. The staff are attentive and the service is excellent. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and well equipped. The design of the entire hotel is beautiful and thought through to the last detail. The hotel has sup boards and kayaks which can be used to explore the lagoon right behind. And the owner has many very useful tips for exploring the area, and sri lanka. It is a great place to start your holiday, for couples and for families too.

This was one of our favorite homestays in Sri Lanka. We booked last minute after a different local hotel cancelled the night before and we're so glad we ended up staying here. There seemed to be 4 rooms, each with a gorgeous view of the lake with large private balconies that had comfy chairs for relaxing in. The rooms were absolutely huge and pristine and had massive comfy beds and plenty of space for hanging clothes. We really appreciated having the fridge, and though there are only small local shops near by the manager sold us bottles of beer from the restaurant that we stored in the fridge and had on the balcony in the evening. Bliss! We also liked the spacious bathroom. The buildings are located in the most lush gardens which are very well maintained by a very smiley, friendly man. The Gardens are also hosts to a beautiful family of grey faced langurs (the nice kind of monkey), chipmunks and so many species of bird it was hard to keep count. A favorite activity was bird watching from the balcony in the early morning. Breakfast was in a raised platform that overlooked the lake and gardens and was so tranquil. We really enjoyed the fresh juice and fruit platters. The location of the accommodation is just a 5 minute walk from the beaches and the manager shared his whatsapp details and was helpful with booking tuktuks and turtle tours. There were peddle bikes available free to use and also kayaks for the lake. We had hired a tuktuk and this area was perfect for learning how to drive it, with long very quiet roads. On the odd occasion we couldn't start the tuktuk the manager was very helpful and supportive and got it started for us without us really having to ask. We didn't catch his name, but the manager was a gem and so very helpful. We only wish we could have stayed here longer! The local village is very quiet and peaceful, so this is the perfect location to really chill and enjoy nature and the slow pace of local life.

Amazing staff, so friendly. Perfect location for a few days to relax. Few minutes walk to the beach which was very quiet. We liked that the location didn’t feel touristy at all. Great pool, gym and restaurant. Very good value for money.

Wonderful experience, loving host family, amazing place. Perfect for rest and relaxation. Delicious cuisine, no need to go into town to eat, no need to worry about anything, the host is phenomenal. In addition, we received a small gift at the end. The best place to rest and service at the highest level.
