Our stay at LaPolena was amazing. The owners were very nice and helpful. They helped us organize transfer to and from the hotel. Breakfasts were delicious and served on the beach. The view from the room to the ocean was amazing and the beach was only for us. The owner's dad took us snorkeling with turtles, which was one of the best experiences during our stay. I definitely recommend it!

Great location. Beach front hotel. Nice and calm beach. All day surfing. There are many possibilities for short trips around. Great food. Great staff. Actually, it's one of the best places we have been to during our one month traveling across the island.

Fantastic value for money - what's described by Lighthouse Beach Home as the "budget room" could be "deluxe" elsewhere. Rooms are well maintained and nicely equipped, even if small - still comfortable, and you can shower while looking at the lighthouse through the bathroom window. The family running the place is very friendly and speak good English. Next to the guesthouse they have a nice, quirky restaurant on the waterfront. You can park a tuk tuk or a bike in the garden - sun beds then get moved to the rooftop terrace, which has views to the ocean and the bay.

It's a a beautiful place! We were looking for a well maitained, modern and clean space and this was all of the above. The room was designed with modern features and with love, as shown in little details like plants. I was allowed and aided with hanging my still wet laundry outside on the hosts' clothes line, they even gave me pins without asking. The aircon was great and as was the bathroom, leaving nothing to be desired. Everything was exceptionally clean. The beach is just across the street, a 1 minute walk. Breakfast was great. While we were waiting for transportation, they even gave us a coconut to pass time with. Very very lovely. Even though less known and traveled, Bathigama had the nicest beaches we came across in Sri Lanka and Crystal Villa is a lovely place to explore Bathigama and Dickwella. Would stay here again and recommend for everyone to do so.
