Beach Hotels in Bentota

Peaceful, quiet, clean, friendly staff

Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The host family was exceptional, just all round lovely people. Vish brought us on a wonderful tour of Bentota in his Tuk Tuk, and taught us about Buddhist culture and traditions. We even visited a dog sanctuary! Rooms were very clean, comfortable and well equipped.

It’s just like a home, surrounded by greenery with flowers and fruit trees. Peace and calm environment. Nice and helpful staff. The host are absolutely friendly and care for the guests. Had a lovely stay here.

Very quiet when we stayed, we were the only party there. Great pool (although a tad chilly!) and amazing Sri Lankan food.

I'm really demanding person but I was fascinated about this place! Let's Start with location. It's situated about 10 minuts by foot from Aluthgama railway station. It's very convenient when you trevel by train like we. You shouldn't worry about noise because this hotel is on a quiet street near the river. For people who is really in nightlife there are no bars, cafes and parties around this place. Instead of this you can enjoy amazing sunsets and try water activities on the river or fly on a glider over the beach. The hotel is separated from the beach by a river so they give you a free ride to the beach by boat. The beach is sandy, wide and almost deserted. There are no cafes but I saw several sunbeds so probably it could be rented. The coast is quite flat and the ocean depth is shallow, so the place is suitable for children Guest house is pretty small (about 5-6 rooms) and doesn't have a garden where people can walk but we didn't suffer about it. Amazing and welcoming family run it. They helped us with all questions but were not intrusive. We took a river safari excursion from them and did not regret it. We saw monitor lizards, endemic monkeys, small crocodiles, bats and birds. All the time we ate only in this hotel. They provide very tasty and filling breakfasts. We were served scrambled eggs in different forms (scramble, omelet, etc.), yogurt, fruit, toast, butter and jam, juice, tea or coffee. Besides they have a wide selection of dishes in menu including grilld meet( chiken, beef, porc), sea food, noodles, rice etc. All was available and has affordable price. We stayed in family room on the first floor. It is spacious, bright, extremely clean and fully matches with photo and description. Definitely recommend this hotel and say a huge thank you to this family!

Great hotel with fabulous garden providing very close contact to the nature with big swimming pool in the centre. Our bungalow was clean and beautiful with all needed amenities like fresh towels, A/C or fan. Served in the hotel breakfast was tasty and varied with many options to choose the best for yourself. The biggest advantage of the Villa is very friendly and helpful staff taking great care of us after one of us got serious health issues. We were really lucky to meet such a great people there!

cosy but spacious ac’d rooms with a flower flanked balcony. very clean facility in general including a groomed garden entrance. the hosts greeted us very warmly with flower necklace and a coconut welcome drink. the breakfast was also great and actually way too much but a takeaway bag was already prepared. in general the atmosphere stayed as good, when we arrived and we’ve also been driven to and picked up from a nearby restaurant.

Our hosts were very caring, offering us tea or coffee in the evening. If you needed a tuk tuk to take you a kilometre or two from the villa, it was free service. The breakfast was a wonderful variety and scrumptious. The room was immaculately clean and had air-con.The short cut to the beach, down an alley and across the railway lines, had us there in 5 minutes. If you get the opportunity, drop in to Tuna Turner, where you can use their pool and sunbeds if you spend 5000slr. They even supply pool towels.

Jaya, our host was extremely friendly, helpful and informative. Anything we wanted to do or see, he arranged it for us. he is a 10\10 host. His garden is amazing, like a mini jungle with lots of birds, squirrels and one day we also saw monkey on Jaya's trees. The Apartmants are 5 mins walk away from the beach, crossing the railways.
