My friend and I stayed at Bertra House for our Croagh Patrick hike, and it was truly unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, we felt so at home thanks to Margareth and John John’s exceptional hospitality. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable and safe, even offering us rides to and from Croagh Patrick when the weather turned rainy. Their thoughtfulness didn’t stop there; they even dried our clothes after the hike! The location is perfect—just a five-minute walk to the beach and a quick ten-minute drive to the starting point of the hike. Bertra House itself is charming, cozy, and incredibly clean. It’s easily one of the safest and most welcoming places we’ve ever stayed, and we’re already looking forward to seeing Margareth and John John again next year! Highly recommended for anyone planning to explore the area.

We loved everything about the property, from the friendly greeting to the gorgeous bedrooms and beautiful food. We couldn’t fault our stay and will most definitely be back for a longer stay, we had four rooms and had three noisy children with us but we were still made feel very welcome!

This is one of the most authentic Irish cottages I've ever stayed in. The personal touch and warm charm provided by the wonderful lady running the B&B truly make it special—she is a legend! Sarah was a fabulous hostess. The home had been in her family for several generations. She grew up in the house which belonged to her grandmother. This is very exceptional accommodation and we would stay here again in a heartbeat. The view from our room was fantastic, the bed and room were great. The breakfast was exceptional. The house smelled nice. Sarah was very helpful on telling us where we could eat dinner. The coffee and tea in the room was great.
