FranceThe hostel is lost in a green paradise. You can swim on the river and enjoy the beauty of fauna and flore around. The local staff is very nice, especially the manager who is very helpful. Definitely best place to stay for people who want to experience a more unique stay than in a traditional hostel. You have to walk 25min along the river to reach the hostel, so it's better to have a backpack. They will send you a guide to walk with you, it's very safe and the walk is not hard. It's totally worth it!
Bring your food if you wanna cook because there is no shop nearby. You can also sign up for meals and it's not expensive.

South AfricaAmazing location in the forest and right on the river. Free yoga in the mornings. Lovely vegetarian food. They can organise tours and transport for you. Not a party hostel like some of the others - peacefully nestled in nature. Location still great and close to Semuc Champey.

We loved our stay here. The property is breathtaking and the location is perfect. The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. We are family style every night and made some lovely friends here. We are a couple but it would also be such a good spot for a solo traveller too. There is also a little beach onto the river at the hostel where you can have a chill day relaxing. We only had three nights here but we wish we had more.
