First, I was looking for a retro experience out of Alexandria Quartet. Exactly what I wanted. Second, the staff. The guest services, Christina and Sara, the morning restaurant manager, Mr. Momen. Btw the breakfast on the roof with its sweeping view of the sea and huge and I mean huge offerings encouraged a lingering joyful start to the day. In the evening, dinner is equally wonderfully. Beautifully prepared and reasonably priced menu items. A young lady I believe Noren or Nasrin took care of me. Her smile brightened my day. But all staff were excellent. I was upgraded so I cannot comment on regular rooms. I felt I was in a novel. Yes a bit faded Glory but brand new bathroom, crisp super white sheets and glorious white towels.. Housekeeping staff were not only efficient but went out of their way to help me. And the laundry service. Most hotels rip you off. Pants, shirts etc were returned the same day for a dollar. My choices for hotel were Cecil or Windsor. Yes Cecil is renovated but after a visit to the bar I was glad I had chosen the Windsor. Cecil was overpriced and the renovations were too shi y and the staff although professional lacked the genuine warmth of absolutely everyone from the front desk staff to the older gentleman who cleans up the lobby to security guards at the Windsor. Btw make sure you take advantage of the day trip to the hotel's beach Hotel. Lovely beach, glorious pool and the very romantic restaurant with white cotton gently blowing in the breeze. Again impeccable staff and a brilliantly prepared fish for lunch. I needed this classic stay for my soul and Windsor delivered. Thank you all.

Great place, lovely decoration, splendid view of the Mediterranean and most of all we enjoyed the great flexibility from the lovely host. Missed the train from Aswan, but the host had no problem pushing our reservation one day, which was really nice.
