Everything was great! Arnold is an excellent host, made us feel like we were visiting a friend. He was able to arrange different tours, give recommendations for places to eat and was able to accommodate our request for the extra bed on a late notice. The breakfast was superb! If you're looking for affordable accommodation and being close to Lamu culture and history, this is the place to stay!

Our stay on Manda’s side at Mangrove House was truly wonderful. The location is unmatched, the peace and quiet are absolute. The staff is wonderful and so is the owner, super attentive and ready to help and share. The house is right in front of Shela and Peponi hotel, just a short boat trip away. Would absolutely go back, and recommend it to everyone going to Lamu!

Kijani is a charming little hotel in Shela, well located to discover the village on foot, and the nearby islands by boat. It has everything one needs for a perfect holiday; provides a quiet and peaceful backdrop. We loved the flexibility of management (even with last minute issues), return boat transfers included in the price, amazing breakfast and restaurant. Fantastic staff (management, reception, cleaning team, restaurant, kitchen, guards, in short: EVERYONE): kind, attentive, all while being respectful of privacy. We have stayed elsewhere in Lamu and Kijani truly stands out. Thank you.

My stay in Lamu was truly amazing. The open space and perfect climate felt like paradise. I never wanted to get up from the hammock. Kamala, Jacky, and Jamil were great hosts, offering plenty of support throughout my stay. Although I was tempted to try other dining options, I found myself obsessed with the fantastic food served here. It was an incredibly relaxing and memorable holiday, and I hope to return again in the future.

My recent two-nights stay at Beytul Habaib was an absolute pleasure, creating unforgettable memories. The Apartment Suite was incredibly spacious and offered a fantastic view that added to the charm of my stay. The staff were exceptionally helpful, ensuring all my needs were met with a smile. The security was top-notch, making me feel safe and comfortable throughout my visit. One of the highlights was the unique wheezing sounds that gave the place a distinctive character. I thoroughly enjoyed the walk to the town center, where the locals were extremely friendly and welcoming. The management also arranged a town tour for me, rich in culture, as well as a sea tour, both of which were truly memorable experiences. I highly recommend Beytul Habaib to anyone visiting Lamu. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, culture, and hospitality.

Tawfiq and Baraka were great hosts! They took care of everything and made sure we had an easy, pleasant, and enjoyable stay. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the water and gets a nice breeze. The restaurant downstairs has good food - both local and Western options - and a large selection of gelatos. We loved having an opportunity to relax, slow down a bit, enjoy the beauty of our surroundings, and interact with the locals. Tawfiq even organized for a boat to take us to and from the airport and for a sunset dhow ride on our second night.
