This is a pure gem! Spacious, clean, comfortable and so tastefully decorated space! Differently from other rented places in Veli Rat Amarcord Skola provides outside shade casted by the trees rather than parasols. It has a generous decking space which I used for afternoon yoga. You can sit outside in a lovely shade hearing the gently rocking boats on the other side of the road. You also do not need to go all the way to any beach but instead dip into the water just across the road too! There is an outside shower to rinse off which is very refreshing! I stayed at Amarcord Skola for 5 nights, loved it and would like to come back. It is accessible by a ferry and a bus (yes, there is a bus!). You take a ferry from Zadar to Brbijn and from there you will have an option to take 201 bus operated by Liburnija (liburnija-zadar.hr). The bus leaving time is synced with the arrival time of the ferry which is very convenient. You can return the same way. This saves you going to Bozava (which is only 6km away from Veli Rat), but is not serviced by the bus that well as Brbijn. At the Amarcord Skola you can have breakfast at an additional cost or get something in the morning from a near by shop (yes, there is a small village shop 2 mins away on foot). Although not extensive, but you have options for dinner within the vicinity too. I didn't have any means of transportation and felt the distances to the nearby beaches were walkable. I preferred a bit of slow down pace, the sounds and the smells of the nature while walking at the countryside. The place and the village are very peaceful, not overcrowded.

Thank you Gaby for a great stay! The apartment was beautifully furnished and well equipped with everything you would ever need for self-catering (including a dishwasher and an excellent coffee machine). Gaby also kindly let us borrow snorkelling and beach equipment during our stay, and had great local knowledge. Everything was spotless and on arrival we were given food and refreshments. A highlight for us was the lovely view of the village from the front terrace, and stargazing at night from the private back terrace. Božava is a peaceful, picturesque village with a few restaurants and supermarkets. Overall it was a fantastic stay and we can’t wait until we can return!

Perfect place, perfect host, perfect island, perfect village. We have spent a few days in the villa Gaby in Božava on the island Dugi otok. It's a perfect getaway for a family, even two families, or a group of friends. The villa offers everything. And when I say everything, I mean it. The kitchen is fully equipped, even with basic spices. The host Gaby waited for us and prepared the warmest welcome ever. The villa has three large bedrooms (and a smaller one with a bunk bed) and three bathrooms, which is great, a large living room and a kitchen plus the ouside area with a nice and warm swimming pool. It's even better than the photos:). Everything was perfectly clean and we had one of the best holidays. The village is perfect even for longer walks (it has some nice paths by the sea) and of course you can discover the hidden places for sunbathing (and swimming) by the sea. And the island itself is a charming place, which has to be visited, especially Veli rat, Sakarun, Veli žal and the National park Telašćica. We had a few nice drinks at the pub in Sali with some nice reggae music. You can just relax by the pool of the villa Gaby or explore the island if you want. Fantastic! And thank you, Gaby!

What a wonderful vacation spot! We received a very pleasant welcome from the owners - cheese, wine & fresh bread. They gave us tips on what to visit on the island and also advised us about the weather. It was great to find accommodation with a heated pool in September as the temperatures didn't get so high. The apartment was clean, modernly equipped with a fully equipped kitchen which, in addition to a large stove, also had an oven and a large freezer. Ideal for someone who likes to cook, there is also a grill in the garden. The bedroom was equipped with a large and very comfortable bed, as well as a built-in wardrobe. Moreover, always hot water in the shower, a sizeable balcony & a TV with a possible Netflix/Max connection.. Parking included in the price of accommodation right next to the villa. Overall, our stay was undisturbed and very comfy, the city of Bozava also has a lot of restaurants, a beach & even a doctor. Thank you, again, see you soon!

In apartment Silvana, whole host family was very kind and helpful with anything we needed. We did a last minute booking but as the family lives downstairs they got ready for us very quickly and even helped with luggages. Although the equipment is older, everything was super clean and kitchen, bathroom etc. was fully equiped and we didn’t miss a thing. Also there is stunning view from the balcony towards the sea and you can watch sunrise from there. Very nice, thank you!

The apartment is spacious, well-equipped, clean and in a unique location. One of the terraces has a wonderful view of the harbour. It is a 5-minute walk from the property to the harbour, where there are restaurants and a shop. There are several beaches within a 5-10 minute walk. The owner is kind and helpful and makes excellent olive oil. Bozava is a good choice for those who like silence, crystal clear sea and don't like crowded holiday resorts.
