The 4X4 trail into the backcounty climbs a short but steep rock wall passing sandstone fins, towering pinnacles and tall spires known as the Marching Men. We stop at Tower Arch for an optional hike. We make another stop at Eye of the Whale for an optional hike to a seldom visited slick rock playground named Herdina Park. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

At the trailhead, your experience begins with a slow climb up a very narrow rock. You will be shocked as our experienced driver and tricked out Jeep maneuvers through steep and rocky obstacles. On the way, we will stop so you can see some dinosaur footprints in Moab’s iconic red rock! This tour is approximately 4 hrs and departs multiple times per day. The tour is private for your group. All entry fees are included in the price. You will ride along in one of our 4x4 backcountry vehicles with heat and a/c for optimal comfort during all seasons. Throughout this half day experience you will learn all about the parks, history, and geology of the Moab area. Your guide will point out Arch formations, and other towering landscapes along the way.
