While we’ve heard good things about the restaurant we like to self cater on holiday - there was a well equipped kitchen in our apartment and excellent supermarkets and a Sunday farmers market nearby. There’s a shuttle bus to Hastings Street every half hour which was awesome for avoiding parking hassles when we went to the beach / shops.

The 4-star By The Sea Resort is located in the centre of Port Douglas, next to Four Mile Beach and just a 2-minute walk from the restaurants along Macrossan Street. All apartments come with full kitchen facilities and many also have sea views. We had a really good stay, unfortunately only for one night. Was so good to walk into a bright airy clean room, with everything you need for a lovely break by the sea. Even had a balcony with a view. Just what we needed. After staying at several not so good places. Thank you ladies. Anyone looking to book, you won’t go wrong!

Just a few metres from the beach in Hervey Bay, the Allegra Hervey Bay offers luxurious, spacious, self-contained apartments and direct access to the Fraser Island World Heritage Site. You can relax on the beach or take a refreshing dip in the lagoon pool. Alternatively, energise yourself at the fitness centre and follow it up with a sauna session. We enjoyed the pool area and proximity to the beach. We were given a warm welcome and good recommendations for food in the local area.

Located in Cardwell, Vista Hinchinbrook provides accommodation with seating area. There is a private entrance at the aparthotel for the convenience of those who stay. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. The owners are charming and available for anything. The location has a unique and stunning view. The cabin is special, well-equipped, clean. The breakfast made fresh and varied on site in front of a breathtaking view.

In a prime location in the centre of Gold Coast, LOTUS RESORT provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and free private parking. With sea views, this accommodation features a balcony and a swimming pool. This 5-star aparthotel offers private entrance. Conveniently located, nice views, great property. We had 3 groups staying there and one day each group went their own way with two taking the keys. The group that didn’t take the keys arrived back early. Instead of waiting 30 minutes for another group to get back to let them in, the property managers were able to buzz them in.
