United KingdomOur apartment was excellent in almost every respect. Everything you might want to see in Hakodate is a short walk (5 - 15 minutes) away. The apartment block is located on a busy city street; you can catch a tram or bus nearby, for any location in town you might want to visit. The accommodation is very spacious, looks newly decorated and furnished, and is very clean, with comfortable furniture, especially the beds. There was no housekeeping, but we were given enough towels for our entire stay. The kitchen equipment is adequate, if you are not an enthusiastic cook. Wifi was stable and fast; there was plenty of hot water. The washing machine was a bonus; we do not read Japanese, so using it required some effort. Once the clothes are washed, however, there is no drying rack on which to put the wet clothes. The upper floor is reached by stairs.
