The hotel is located close to one of the top beaches in Crete (Amoudara), but also very close to Heraklion. The rooms are very nicely furbished and have decent cleaning services. Very good selection of food and beverages in a lovely buffet-area. Nice relaxing areas in the hotel garden and on the beach. Lovely evening entertainment. Very friendly reception staff: they were prompt with hotel facilities, but also arranged a spotless early check-out (Special Thanks to Alexandra and her team!).

We booked Knossos beach resort based on reviews, photos and the amazing packaged it offered. It exceeded all our expectations!! From the moment we arrived, we were offered a complimentary room upgrade along with our beach cabana. The staff couldn't do enough to make sure we were well looked after! We arrived early, early check in was not a problem. We well full inclusive for the entire stay (3 nights) and we didn't spend a penny!! Everything is included; amazing buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner at a very high quality, new food every day, always so fresh with great attention to detail, all our our snacks and drinks by the beach delivered right to our beach cabana were also included (cocktails, beer, food etc). We had wonderful massages in the spa area, we chose to eat in one of the restaurants (not included) for a special meal, you are given a discount and the food was incredible and very reasonably priced!! On our last day, our flight wasn't until 10pm, the hotel allowed us to stay until 6pm with an extra charge of €30, and we kept our all inclusive bands and cabana all day. Honestly, this place was truly so special, amazing sandy beaches, pure clean water, no noise, so quiet, no loud music, tranquil, clean, friendly and the most amazing greek food!! We will be back, it was one of the most relaxing stays I've ever had. Huge than you to Harris who went above and beyond to look after us!! The lovely waitress, Maria waitress, Dimitris beach bar manager, and wonderful massages from Evalina Spa. To the chef, we particularly enjoyed our buffet lunches! It was fantastic! The staff couldn’t have been friendlier, such a home from home. The resort is huge which means that even though there are a lot of people it doesn’t feel busy. There are so many different areas to explore and it’s in a brilliant location just 10 minutes drive from Heraklion. The food was brilliant, which isn’t always the case in an all inclusive. So much variety, really delicious and very good at catering for allergies.

Within 120 metres from the beach of Amoudara, the 4-star Marilena Hotel has a large swimming pool, a restaurant and a poolside bar and offers elegant accommodation with Cretan Sea or mountain views.

Located just outside of Heraklion, having a bus stop in front makes hotel's location great for travellers via public transport. But what is more important is the staff who are there to greet, offer and help the customers. I asked some specifics prior my arrival and was answered accordingly. After our checkout we stayed a bit more in the hotel area, treated as guests till the last moment. Not to mention the scrumptious variety of foods served during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms were also big, having amenities and comfortable beds and pillows.
