Such an amazing resort - I wish we could have stayed for much much longer! Everything exceeded our expectations, as vegans we had many plant-based food options for every meal, plus there are several restaurants with different menues. The beach is spacious and guests have a lot of privacy, there are 3 pools on the resort so we moved a lot during the day. Knossos Palace is fairly close to the resort, airport and the city center as well. We watched the meteor shower from our bungalow's balcony with the sea view. It was an amazing active vacation. Best of all, the amazing staff even prepared a special cake and sparkling wine surprise for my mom's birthday! On the last day, our flight was rescheduled for 2am, we were able to use all-inclusive services all day long after check-out time. The amazing staff let us extend the use of our room until 6pm for the fee of 60 EUR, which was really handy considering we were all salty and had to prepare for the flight back home. Looking forward to coming back next year with more friends and family :D

We visited just 2 days after the start of the season and stayed for 7 days. The hotel was very well maintained compared to some other Mediterranean locations we've stayed in. The food at the main restaurant had some daily variation with some themes days in between. The quality of the food was always great, especially the local vegetables and meat / fish on offer. Do try the Flavor restaurant with the wine pairing if you can, it's a great way to get away from the chaos that buffets can sometimes be. We loved the onsite gym which is on par if not above some dedicated gyms in terms of equipment variety & quality. The fitness activities are also great! I can recommend the bike tours offered by the hotel, the mountain and road bikes they have are very well maintained and even for me at 2.07m tall there was something available. Give the archery course a try! Hendrick did a great job at explaining everything and helping us improve over time! Hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful any time of day and no matter the question. The guest service will try to accommodate any request you might have. Overall we loved our stay at Candia Maris and will definitely come back next year for another relaxing holiday.

Located just outside of Heraklion, having a bus stop in front makes hotel's location great for travellers via public transport. But what is more important is the staff who are there to greet, offer and help the customers. I asked some specifics prior my arrival and was answered accordingly. After our checkout we stayed a bit more in the hotel area, treated as guests till the last moment. Not to mention the scrumptious variety of foods served during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms were also big, having amenities and comfortable beds and pillows.
