The place is warm and full of love from the host. Me and my family we had the pleasure of spending Xmas 2024 with Clinton’s(owner) parents(Harleen and John).
Lovely people with lots of stories to learn from. There is a Washing machine and dishwasher so no worries if you had couple of days travelling with dirty cloth looming around your car. The WIFI it’s super strong.
I am not a pet person but Ohhhh boy I found myself playing with VUBU with the Ball by the pool. Did I mention the pool. You can Immense urself in the pool escaping the heat of Kruger park and braai facility are out of this world.
The Aircon every room you would want to stay in the house the whole day.

Everything was beyond expectation, I highly recommend a stay here if you get the opportunity. Every detail and bit of care put into your stay is so special both Butch and the owner are just so friendly and accommodating we couldn't have asked for a better stay and this is now our new no.1 spot to stay moving forward. The tents are amazing and you are short of nothing on your stay they have truly thought of it all. Thank you Butch for being so accommodating during our stay and it was absolutely lovely meeting the owner the next morning at the park gate.

Beautiful resort at very close distance from Kruger park. Rondawels were very clean and situated in such a way that they felt private, but at a close distance to the other rondawels where our kids were staying. Restaurant was very good and plenty of choices. We also booked a gamedrive via the reception before our arrival which was great and well organized.

Phalaborwa as a town was a deep disappointment.
Phalaborwa as a town was a deep disappointment. The roads are in a very bad state and the general condition of the streets, pavements and rubbish lying around is a disgrace for the municipality. There are no streetlights working and the overall deterioration of the town is the last thing one wants to show overseas visitors. The tar road leading to the Kruger gate is obviously in a good condition but that is all. The Pick and Pay and the Spur are closed due to a fire incident and there are not a lot of restaurants to go to dinner for.

I'm so glad we chose Abelana River Lodge in Phalaborwa for...
I'm so glad we chose Abelana River Lodge in Phalaborwa for our first safari adventure. I have heard and seen so many times a convoy of safari jeeps in search of the animals. Our trips were just for our family of 4 which enabled us to build a relationship with our guide and we were always the only jeep out and about so it felt very private and tailored for our own personal experience and did not have to share with other groups or wait in line behind other jeeps to admire the animals. The area of Phalaborwa, especially where the Lodge was located was stunning with hectares upon hectares of thick bush with tracks running through it for the game drives to take place. We were constantly amazed at the beauty of the area and how respected the animals were by the staff and the guides.

It would be helpful if some activities such as spa...
It would be helpful if some activities such as spa facilities, game drive and bike tours are taken off your website because travelling all the way to Limpopo only to look for an alternative at 6pm since we were misled was the biggest unjust. As if that wasn't enough, we are going back and forth trying to get the refund, yet no one is willing to help.
