The staff proactively took steps to make the stay comfortable, including cleaning the room first thing in the morning while I was at breakfast. The property was lovely, breakfast was excellent, location very convenient. Definitely looking forward to returning!

IrelandAfrican Rock is quite simply a little piece of heaven. We stayed here for a night to rest after a long flight and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The room was gorgeous, the owner Sander was so nice and extremely welcoming and accommodating. The food was amazing and the setting was fabulous. Special mention to Matimbo who was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was incrediblly friendly and always greeted you with a smile. I highly recommend African Rock Lodge. It exceeded our expectations and we only wish we could have stayed for longer.

It was a brilliant experience, in particular the game drives and being out in the wild.
The resort is excellent!
Tips:
No loo on a 3-hour game drive so don’t drink too much before heading out.
For photographers - consider using two cameras - short lens and long lens ones. Saves having to switch lens if you have two cameras ready. Speed if reaction is required to capture some shots.

A great location for some rest and relaxation.
A great location for some rest and relaxation. I went on a Big 5 safari game drive, and got to see the animals up close. I also had a heavenly spa experience at Karuna, and visited the nearby reptile park to see some rare snake species.
Lots of restaurants around to try out a variety of meals, I went to the Club House and had tasty ribs. Then the breakfast at Aragula is to die for.

Lodge blends in with nature, very peaceful place. All staff exceptional, guides have so much knowledge and make all the effort to see and teach as much as possible about the animals ,trees and surroundings in the time available. Food and drinks outstanding.

The food in River Lodge was superb, and the service from all staff from game drives and walks, bar and restaurant, spa and house keeping were fabulous. A 3 day stay minimum would be recommended, but we did 5 and didnt want to leave.

Great central point for exploring the Kruger Park, private...
Great central point for exploring the Kruger Park, private game reserves, Blyde River Canyon and many other spots in the region. Many lodges to choose from, tours, charters, restaurants, shopping centers in the town. Agricultural hotspot, with many mango and citrus farms, plus macadamia and avocado farms nearby.

This is part of the Greater Kruger Park and the game move...
This is part of the Greater Kruger Park and the game move freely across a huge area. Klaserie offers a more private and quieter experience that the main Kruger Park. The game is plentiful and it's not unusual to encounter the big 5 on any one day.

This was my fourth time at Kapama.
This was my fourth time at Kapama. Saw the big five within the first day. It never disappoints. This is a magical place that makes me happy. The guide and the tracker are very knowledgeable and make the ride enjoyable. The food is exceptional with different options at each meal. The staff is accommodating and pleasant and makes you feel like you’re at home. They go above and beyond to make your stay the best experience ever.

Impressive little town with lots to do in town and in...
Impressive little town with lots to do in town and in surrounding areas. The town had great little shops and amazing restaurants with lovely ambiance and views. It felt clean and the roads recently tarred. The grass of the game reserves' boundaries next to the main roads were all cut which looked well kept and neat.
It was just disappointing that it was not possible to do self drives or walks inside any of the surrounding game reserves unless you were staying in the reserve. The Kruger was your only option.
My favourite restaurants were the Blue Mountain restaurant, The Argula Experience at Zandspruit and Aerotel.
Great trips in the surrounding area were Blyde river canyon boat excursion, Mango Mohlatsi and Maholoholo rehabilitation centre.
Had a great trip to the Kruger Park entering at the Orpen gate and taking the Timbavati road to Olifants camp and the river dirt road to Letaba and exiting via the Phalaborwa gate. Saw lots of game following the dirt roads next to the rivers.
