Spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, beautiful view, extra blankets. Everything we could need. The rusks, biscuits and fruit was a lovely homely touch especially for the kids who had been on the road all day eating take aways.

Dear Barries and family,
We are much grateful to you for your warmth and sincere hospitality. We wholeheartedly appreciate your kindness.
We enjoyed so much our stay... Such a lovely place you have here. The landscaping is very beautiful. The furnishings are well-thought of and ingeniously re-used and repurposed, aesthetically placed at the same time effective for its practical use.
We would surely come back given an opportunity to have overnights in Bloemfontein again, Oudam is on our top list of accommodation option.
We will see you again very soon.

The new family who is responsible for the guest rooms is exceptionally nice and helpful. We were supported by all our problems or concerns and for an absolutely fair price we got a very good dinner.

Herald and Carel are the most welcoming hosts. We were privileged to have spent time in these most beautiful surroundings. The attention to deal is far beyond anything we've experienced before.

Peace, quiet, respected.
Peace, quiet, respected. Help always on the way when you asked. Personal kept me informed if something was wrong. Like the geyser not working they looked for another room to shower. Replace my broken fridge. Love this place ❤️

It's unique in that it is the size and heft of a large African city, yet has the feel of a small country town, with thousands of rose bushes coloring the streets. The literal translation of Bloemfontein from Afrikaans is “fountain of flowers”, which gives the city its nickname, “The City of Roses”.

I can’t think of anything bad to say about the lazy lizard.
I can’t think of anything bad to say about the lazy lizard.
The staff are nice, friendly and go out of their way to help.
The perfect place to stay if you are going to watch live rugby or cricket.
The rooms are perfectly clean, and have everything you need in place, cleaned every day.
Would recommend it to anyone whether on holiday or business

It seemed fairly safe and quiet.
It seemed fairly safe and quiet. It was spring break when I was there, not sure how it is during school days. It is an old suburb, and quite close to the CBD and some shopping centers. The e-hailing service, Bolt, is convinient in Bloemfontein.

When you get in the neighbourhood you might feel you picked the wrong spot, but at the end it was not a problem at all, nice friendly neighbourhood and easy to access the rest of Bloemfontein from the area. Nice mall close and fantastic restaurants close by.

I just came there for work and stayed only for a night.
I just came there for work and stayed only for a night. I hardly went out i slept and woke up and left. I did not engage with the staff or ate at the place. I was impressed by the hospitality of the staff when I was called to check if am settled and ok. I should point out that was unexpected. I travel alot and this was the first experience to receive a call asking if everything is OK. I bought Nandos as it's my favorite dish. It was very easy to find the place.

The people of Bloemfontein are not accommodative even when you go to the shop the tellers give you an attitude when you can't talk their mother language. When you talk English to express yourself because you do not know the language they show attitude to you. What attracts tourists to a place is the warmth of its people no matter how beautiful it can be.
