Small hotel almost opposite the main entrance to heritage park. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Worth exploring the bazaars and town, lots to see. I stayed 2 nights in a luxury room 20 dollars per night with own bathroom. A bit noisy being next to restaurant kitchen but ok.

Situated in Shahrisabz, Bek Shahrisabz provides a garden and terrace. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, a shuttle service, a shared kitchen and free WiFi. Mr. Bek is the kindest, most friendly host I have ever met. He helped me return another hotel’s card key for Uzbekistani (not tourist) prices. He called my next hostel when my driver didn’t arrive as scheduled, and arranged a new taxi for me. He showed me how to get into town, where to find the bank.. and the breakfast!! I don’t know what I would’ve done without him. And he is one of the few people in Uzbekistan that didn’t make me feel like I needed to be on guard and bargain. He is super trustworthy, and I cannot recommend his hotel more!! In addition, if you’re wondering whether or not to visit Shahrisabz, please note that this city had some of the cheapest souvenirs I’ve seen so far in Uzbekistan (much cheaper than Bukhara and Samarkand.) I thoroughly enjoyed my visit—I wish I could’ve explored a bit more (Langar Otta, Kadvan Valley Ruins, Meros Paper Mill!). Much love to Bek Hotel and the lovely family running it!

This was one of the best and most interesting trips I have ever had. The host Ilxom was extremely helpful. The guesthouse is located on the outskirts of a small village, and I got a good impression of everyday life in this part of the country. The host helped me all the time, explained and gave information, showed me around the village, took me to friends and acquaintances. Even though I don't speak the local language, I got a good impression of life there. The other people in the family where I stayed were also helpful and nice. I got a very good impression, and we had many interesting conversations about cultural differences between their everyday life and mine. The host family was around all the time and I felt so well looked after. I had great mountain walks, went on trips with the host, visited farmers, watched cattle being brought down from the mountain, visited the school and greeted many friends and acquaintances of the host. I would love to come back here.
