The view of the apartment is very beautiful. Although it's close to the airport, it's super quiet and peaceful. Very good mattress, linens, towels and shower. The cleaning lady was extremely helpful and kind. Host available and prompt to respond messages.

The location was the right for us because we were close to the airport. From there, the trip takes 5 minutes. The breakfast was a continental kind, there were eggs, fruit salad, coffee, milk, tea, etc.. there was plenty of snack options. We enjoyed the place, sure we'll return.

The apartment is in a still and safe neighborhood, not near the city centre, It more near the airport. The apartment it self is on the first floor of a complex and safe. There is a lift or staircase you can use.
The room is big and comfortable with a little fridge inside and a separate bathroom.
The entire apartment is available to use, but as the owner also stay in the same apartment, I only use the kitchen and my part of the apartment.
Parking is available in front of the building as street parking, and I believe safe.

Check in staff really competent and pleasant. Spoke English too which helped. Room was excellent this time as we were given a free upgrade to a suite of rooms. We had stayed earlier the week before and three years ago. Each time had no complaints. A really safe comfortable hotel which we would stay in again.
Breakfasts were very varied and excellent each day.
Bar meals and dinners were again very well cooked and served. Bar staff were always on hand and proficient.

Carrasco International Airport is located 12 miles (19 kilometres) from downtown Montevideo. Official taxis can be found waiting outside the arrivals lounge and take about 30 minutes to reach the city. Fares start at about UYU 1200. Great modern city by the sea with also lovely old buildings. I knew nothing about Montevideo before coming here and ended up staying 6 nights. Visit the Memorial Andes 1972 museum. It's amazing and very moving!

The city is full of life.
The city is full of life. People are friendly, and shopping is great. We especially loved the food. We were surrounded by great restaurants. El Fogon, Bar Facal and La Pasiva in 18 De Julio are especially great. We enjoyed every minute of it.

Montevideo is the capital of a small country whose economy is doing quite well. I was surprised how unattractive the city, as a whole, was. Seems like some paint might be in order, and many blocks exhibited rank neglect. On the way out of town, driving past mile after mile of beach-side high rises, I realized maybe all the money has moved here, away from the downtown area that I had been staying and walking around in.
I would highly recommend two wonderful free museums -- the Gaucho and Coin museum in the gob smackingly gorgeous and huge main hall of a bank, and the Design and Decorative arts museum in the Taranco Palacio -- Julian Fellowes eat your heart out. In general I very much enjoyed walking around the Ciudad Viejo, with its beautiful plazas and faded glory residences.
