If you love waking up in the country and smelling FRESH CLEAN AIR. This is the place. Recommend bring food provisions for first 24 hours. Just so you have a backup. You are close to Casinos, Anacortes, La Connor, Bellingham-but not too close 🙂 Make sure to go to Edison.

We always stay at the Wild Iris when visiting.
We always stay at the Wild Iris when visiting. We are from out of state so we look forward to the location and beauty of the area and the
B & B is most welcoming. We feel comfortable and safe, plenty of parking and their breakfast is amazing. Definitely will look forward to next trip and stay at the Wild Iris. We had the best fish and chips at La Conner Pub and Eatery with a waterfront view. We loved shopping and going to the Museum of Northwest Art. We also had a fun night at O'Donnell's Irish Pub! All were very close to the Wild Iris.

The location is closer to North Cascades Nat’l Park however we might have preferred to find lodging in Burlington had we been more familiar with the area - as Burlington was much cleaner & had more facilities & was really only about 15-20mins farther from the park .

Burlington is a nice little town with all the basic conveniences. Old downtown Mt. Vernon is a quaint little shopping area with a wonderful old theatre (The Lincoln). They have a natural food co-op, brewery, and our favorite place for breakfast, Calico Cupboard. Best of all it is centrally located to take quick day trips up towards the mountains, or over to the waters and Salish Sea. It is not far from Deception Pass, or you can take a scenic drive up Chuckanut Drive to Bellingham. The parking lot felt safe even when I walked our little dog at night and in the morning.

We have been going to Mount Vernon for years and it has seen better times. The shopping is all but gone, the mall and outlet mall are closed. The food and drink places are the same and very good and a lot of fun. The people are generally friendly and welcoming.

We came up to participate in our first Maker's Market Festival. Emerald Flats and Philocaly hosted a great venue, and there were a lot of talented vendors at the show! The community was great, lots of wonderful conversations with locals, and a beautiful, lush green backdrop! Close to Anacortes, and lots of great spots to eat!

First Avenue is one of the best shopping streets for clothes, art, and crafts in Western Washington. Many very interesting boutiques. Some excellent restaurants, and two outstanding museums: MONA and the Pacific Northwest Quilt and Fibre Art Museum. We at Seafood and Roast Beef and COA for dinner, and the Waterside Cafe for lunch.

We loved everything.
We loved everything. The employees were so nice and helpful. Our room was clean, the bathroom was huge, the shower had lots of pressure. The room was clean and the bed was so comfy that we missed breakfast. We will definitely be back!
