Location was ideal as the reason for our stay was to visit the Muscle Shoals Recording Studio. Restaurants were available and very close. Breakfast was varied and plentiful with ample seating available. Good parking available.

My friend and I really liked Kennedy, at the front desk. She met us when we came in and helped us with our bags and offered suggestions on where to eat and what to see. Very personable. Breakfast was ok--food was good but no variety when you stay for more than one day--same exact food each day.
The Tuscumbia Key West Inn is located 7 miles from Florence city centre McFarland Park. This hotel offers a daily continental breakfast and free Wi-Fi to all guests.

Beautiful and very comfy. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The pool was exceptional. Swampers’ breakfast buffet was excellent if a little expensive. Our room was clean and quiet. I had an amazing night’s sleep.

We visited muscle shoals for the RTJ golf course.
We visited muscle shoals for the RTJ golf course. The course was amazing and we played Fighting Joe and School Master. We also visited TVA Wheeler dam. The dam was very beautiful with a lower park area with access to a waterfall. Great town.

If you're looking for a place to stay that's close to the...
If you're looking for a place to stay that's close to the area's rich music history, this is it. If you enjoy fishing or pleasure boating, this hotel is just a mile or so away from the Tennessee River and they allow boat parking. The area is rich in history, such as Helen Keller's birthplace, Pope's Tavern Museum, Children's Museum, and the Indian Mound and Museum. Also, there are a number of local golf courses, one being part of the RTJ Golf Trail.
The hotel has a bar area that regularly offers local musicians a chance to show their talent.
There is an Italian restaurant in walking distance of the hotel and a number of unique eating spots within a short drive.

Check out the Rattlesnake saloon, Well worth the time and effort. Chappys, Superman and pizza places downtown. A couple other places Just outside of Tuscumbia in Sheffield and Muscle Shoals. Hotels in the town are nice and reasonable. Lots of music related interests in the area.
Helen Keller place also worth the visit.

Florence is a beautiful town. There is a variety of restaurants and places for local entertainment. The people are friendly and show lots of southern hospitality. There are also some educational attractions for this small, but quaint town.

We visited the FAME studio, which was the attraction that brought us to Muscle Shoals in the first place. We had seen the documentary of the studio and wanted to see more. Across the river in Florence we visited the W.C. Handy house, and it was full of great American history. We also visited the Rosenbaum House, which was beautiful and intriguing. We bought souvenirs there. All three sites were wonderful. We also spent some time out in the suburbs of Florence visiting friends. It is a lovely area, and we speak highly of it. We also enjoyed the TVA trails in Muscle Shoals along the Tennessee River. It is great for bird watching! We ate at Bunyan's Bar-B-Q in Florence and enjoyed the pulled chicken and coleslaw. We had breakfast at the Coldwater Cafe in Muscle Shoals, and it is a very charming little place with great decor.

Loved touring Ivy Green, the home of Helen Keller.
Loved touring Ivy Green, the home of Helen Keller. Wish I could go back in June when they do their annual Helen Keller Festival, which includes locals putting on the play "The Miracle Worker" right on the grounds of Ivy Green. We also visited the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, which we would recommend, not only for adults but kids as well.

The city of Florence is small but the people are wonderful and there is plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area. I enjoy my time in Florence each time I go, just be cautious of the hotel you book. I would definitely not recommend Baymont By Wyndham.

Chaos & confusion. Needed a map to find our way around. I love to eat but definitely not there. If anyone moves there that can cook they will be popular and wealthy. The indoor mall died a long time ago. I'm sure at one time it was very industrious, now it is a ghost town.
