To know the people of Lubbock is to love Lubbock.

To know the people of Lubbock is to love Lubbock. From a visual perspective only Lubbock isn't much to look at but meet it's people and you may grow to love it. During my brief stay I met many locals and can't say that a single one was rude or unfriendly. Community was mentioned by more than one and I do feel that if you needed help in this city a complete stranger would stop and help you. Highlights of my visit included the Heritage Ranch Center on campus of TTU, the Buddy Holly Center, and a visit to Adolphus Winery. A car would have been useful but the Ubers are plentiful and not too expensive not to mention a great way to learn more about the people of Lubbock.

I grew up near Lubbock and have a couple of doctors there, even though I live in San Angelo. I've always liked Lubbock and enjoy visiting friends and family there. I always eat at Taco Villa, and love PF Changs for special ocassions!

The panhandle of Texas is flat, hot, windy, and not scenic...

The panhandle of Texas is flat, hot, windy, and not scenic at all. But you must drive through it if you're going between Colorado and a funeral in San Antonio (which is probably the most horrible place to drive in the United States). Lubbock is OK, and it is really quite easy to get around and through -- much like Amarillo, but even easier.
